A recoilless weapon comprises a barrel 1 with a rear constriction 4, or the constriction is provided in a case surrounding the projectile. The projectile is formed with a tubular member 8 which is concentric with the barrel and extends rearwardly from the projectile to behind the constriction where it is provided with a ring of fins 7. A metal or metal-alloy blow-out disc 6 is interposed between the constriction 4 and the fins, the disc being formed with a plurality of substantially radially directed weakenings (Fig. 2, not shown) which are positioned intermediate the fins 7. On firing, the disc is divided into a number of segments which are bent around the fins (Figs. 4, 5, not shown). The weakenings may comprise slots, cut or punched holes or the like. The disc may be of aluminium and be provided with stamped marks (Fig. 3, not shown) to facilitate the correct positioning of the disc in relation to the fins.</p> |
