A method and system for authenticating a network device are provided. When the network device is authenticated, the integrity check result recorded in the trusted environment of the network device is added to perform a joint determination so as to finally determine whether to initiate an authentication request or whether to respond with authentication success. Only when the received access authentication request message and the integrity check result recorded in the trusted environment of the network device are both right, does the network device respond with the authentication success. Only when the integrity check result recorded in the trusted environment of the network device is right, can the network device initiatively initiate an effective access authentication request. Thus, only in the case of right integrity of the network device can the authentication for the network device be passed, so that the safety authentication for the network device is ensured and the possibility of passing the authentication for unlawful devices or juggled devices is eliminated. |
