PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with improved transmittance.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate; a first pixel and a second pixel vertically or horizontally disposed on the first substrate; a first pixel electrode disposed in the first pixel; a second pixel electrode disposed in the second pixel; a second substrate facing the first substrate; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate and containing liquid crystal molecules. The first pixel electrode includes a plurality of first micro branch portions extending in a first direction; and the second pixel electrode includes a plurality of second micro branch portions extending in a second direction. A first control electrode is disposed between the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode. The first direction is different from the second direction.
