Method for manufacturing a light-transmitting element, in particular a dome skylight element, comprising the following steps of:
- selecting an assembly comprising a lower and an upper flat thermoformable light-transmitting plastic wall and a thermally insulating light-transmitting filler material arranged therebetween, typically a silica aerogel with pores of nano-dimensions;
- thermoforming the assembly in order to obtain a light-transmitting element of a determined shape.
