The radial foil bearing (3) includes: a top foil (10); an intermediate foil (11); a back foil (12); and a bearing housing (13) accommodating the top foil (10), the intermediate foil (11) and the back foil (12). The top foil (10) is formed by winding a rectangular metal foil which includes a first uneven portion (18a) and a second uneven portion (18b), into a cylindrical shape so as to overlap the first and second uneven portions (18a, 18b) with each other, wherein the first uneven portion (18a) is composed of a projecting portion (16a) and a depressed portion (17a) formed on one edge of the metal foil, and the second uneven portion (18b) is composed of a depressed portion (17b) and a projecting portion (16b) formed on another edge of the metal foil. The projecting portions (16a, 16b) of the first and second uneven portions (18a, 18b) pulled out near the bearing housing (13) engage with engagement grooves (14) of the bearing housing (13). |
