A method for continuous purification of a liquid is provided, comprising the steps of inserting the unpurified liquid into a reaction tank (2a), injecting at least flocculants for flocculating impurities and air into the unpurified liquid, retrieving a flocculated unpurified liquid containing air (12) from the reaction tank (2a) at a first extraction location (16a) below the injection location (16b), transporting the flocculated unpurified liquid containing air (12) towards a flotation tank (2b), adding a polymer to the flocculated unpurified liquid containing air (12), inserting the flocculated unpurified liquid containing air and polymer (13) into the flotation tank (2b), removing a sludge (6) comprising flocculated impurities from the flotation tank (2b) either continuously or during predefined time intervals, and continuously extracting at least partially purified liquid from the flotation tank (2b). Furthermore an installation for carrying out the method is provided. |
