PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monofilament which is composed of a polyamide composition and has processing stability and color stability.SOLUTION: A method of producing a polyamide monofilament is for obtaining a monofilament through melt spinning by using a polyamide composition containing at least 70 wt.% of a polyamide formed by polycondensation of a 4-18C aliphatic diamine with a 10-18C aliphatic(or alicyclic) diacid and a 2-12C aliphatic monocarboxylic acid as a chain terminator. The aliphatic monocarboxylic acid is acetic acid and/or lauric acid.
