1. A system for harvesting electrical power from mechanical energy, the system comprising:
a buoy; a tether coupled between the buoy and a fixed location below the buoy; and a plurality of power take-off (PTO) modules coupled in serial to one another along the tether, wherein each PTO module is configured to generate induced electrical energy in response to forces transferred from the tether to the PTO module.
