PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor memory device that prevents a defective memory cell from being selected, without storing information on the defective memory cell by using the space for storage in a memory cell array.SOLUTION: A driver circuit has a redundant control function to store information on a defective memory cell to repair a defect of a memory cell array. In other words, a nonvolatile memory is provided in a memory controller for storing address information of the defective memory cell, without storing the address information of the defective memory cell by using a part of the memory cell array provided to store the data. The memory controller holding the address information of the defective memory cell contributes to an increase in process speed, while there is no need to access the memory cell array in order to obtain the address information of the defective memory cell. |
