<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet-light irradiation device for a printer that can freely make a print with granularity of ink and a print with glossiness on a printing medium.SOLUTION: There is provided a printer that relatively moves the position relation between a head carriage and a printing medium under the control of a controller in a main-scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction, and jets ultraviolet curable ink from a printing head to print a printing surface of the printing medium, and includes an ultraviolet-light irradiation light source which is fitted to a head guide rail and extends along the length of the head guide rail, and a controller 18 for light source which controls the light source. The ultraviolet-light irradiation light source is constituted by arranging a plurality of ultraviolet-light LED chips. The controller 18 for light source turns off, for a prescribed time, LED chips having an irradiation range of ink droplets having been landed after the ink droplets jetted from the printing head are landed on the printing medium following up a movement of the head carriage along the head guide rail.</p> |
