[Also in Division C3] The invention comprises compounds of the general formula wherein n is 0 or an integer from 1 to 10 and X is F and if desired Cl, at least 75% of the X atoms being F and, when X is Cl, the carbon atom to which it is attached being at least 1 carbon atom removed from the trifluorovinyl and trifluoro-oxirane groups and any other carbon atom having Cl attached thereto. The compounds may be prepared by epoxidizing compounds of the formula and dechlorinating the products. The starting materials may be prepared (a) by decarboxylation of the Na salt of an #-chlorodifluoro-(#-1)- chlorofluoro-perhalogenated saturated normal aliphatic C 5-15 monocarboxylic acid, or (b) by telomerization of CF 2 Cl-CFCll with C 2 F 4 followed by dehydroiodination of the telomer. |
