PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occurrence of impression and scratches caused in a holding member, even when handling a continuous sheet.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a paper feeding part 51 supplying a paper sheet P, an image forming part 40 forming a toner image on the paper sheet, a fixing part 60 fixing an unfixed toner image on the paper sheet in a nip part N formed by holding members 61 and 65 holding the paper sheet, a conveyance part 50 conveying the paper sheet along a conveyance path passing through the image forming part and the fixing part, and a control part 80 controlling the operation of the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus further includes a moving part 90 moving the holding members along a paper width direction and an actuator 68 releasing the holding pressure of the holding members of the fixing part. When a certain execution condition is satisfied, the control part performs control for releasing the holding pressure of the holding members by the actuator and then, moving the fixing part by the moving part. |
