SURGICAL STAPLING APPARATUS A surgical apparatus (100) is provided. The surgical apparatus (100) includes an actuator device (101) including a body portion (104) defining a longitudinal axis (A-A) and a first articulating link (120). The first articulating link (120) includes a mechanical interface and is movable between a non-articulated position and at least one articulated position. A reload (106) is releasably coupled to a distal end of the body portion (104). The reload (106) including a second articulating link (130) configured to engage the first articulating link (120) when the reload (106) is coupled to the actuator device (101). The reload (106) including a tool assembly (107) which is pivotable from a first position aligned with the longitudinal axis (A-A) of the body portion (104) to at least one position misaligned with the longitudinal axis (A-A) of the body portion (104). The first articulation link (120) and the mechanical interface prevent the reload (106) from being disengaged from the actuator device (101) when the first articulating link (120) is in the at least one articulated position.
