A display apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a first substrate which includes a pixel electrode and a control electrode which is arranged to be insulated from the pixel electrode, a second substrate which faces the first substrate and includes a common electrode, and a light control layer which is interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. A first domain and a second domain arranged near a second direction which is vertical to a first direction are defined on the pixel electrode. The control electrode is extended in the first direction along the boundaries of the first and second domains and controls the light control layer to display a black gradation. Thereby, the display quality of the display apparatus is improved by suppressing the generation of a texture due to the misalignment of a liquid crystal generated in the boundary of the domain.
