A vacuum regulating valve as described in Specification 1,047,292, has a spring-loaded valve 24 moved off its seat 23 by a push rod 33 when the piston 2 approaches its innermost position. The regulating chamber 8 which is connected to a differential pressure gauge 9 is thus vented to atmosphere through bores 29, 21 and 22.
