Disclosed are an electrode assembly and a secondary battery comprising the same, wherein the electrode assembly can enhance energy density and can configure the shape of a battery more freely. The disclosed electrode assembly comprises: a square-shaped electrode jelly-roll formed by winding a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separation membrane inserted into the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate together; a first electrode tab connected to the first electrode plate and withdrawn in the direction of the winding axis of the electrode jelly-roll; and a second electrode tab connected to the second electrode tab and withdrawn in the direction of the winding axis thereof, wherein either or both of the first electrode and the second electrode tab are bent in a direction opposite to a withdrawing direction to be arranged on the exterior surface of the electrode jelly-roll in order to face each other.
