<p>A method to complete a sales transaction. The method includes (a) obtaining, by a merchant mobile device, a digital image of a financial card of a consumer, wherein the digital image captures a code and an account number, (b) requesting a payment of the sales transaction by (i) extracting, by a processor of the merchant mobile device using optical character recognition, the account number and the code, (ii) identifying a depository financial institution and a consumer financial account based on the code and the account number, respectively, and (iii) sending a request to the depository financial institution to transfer an amount of the payment from the consumer financial account to a merchant financial account controlled by the merchant, and (c) receiving, by the merchant mobile device, a confirmation of completing the electronic funds transfer, wherein the sales transaction is completed in response to the confirmation.</p> |
