An electric power steering apparatus comprises: a motor; a worm shaft having a worm gear and receiving output of the motor; a worm wheel engaged with the worm gear; a bearing assembly supporting the worm shaft; and a biasing mechanism providing a biasing force tilting the bearing assembly toward the worm wheel in the radial direction of the worm shaft. The biasing mechanism incudes: a first cover enclosing an outer circumferential surface of the bearing assembly and having a tapered protrusion; a second cover enclosing the first cover and having a through hole penetrated by the tapered protrusion; a support cam operating as a cam by coming into contact with the tapered protrusion exposed by the through hole; and an elastic member elastically supporting the support cam toward the tapered protrusion.
