<p>A link maintenance method and system and an Optical Line Terminal are disclosed in the present invention, wherein the method includes: the OLT determines the first flow and the second flow, wherein the first flow is the total uplink data flow of the Optical Network Unit ONU in a predetermined time segment and the second flow is the uplink maintenance flow of the ONU in the predetermined time segment; the OLT adjusts the first variable according to the first flow and the second flow or only according to the first flow, and informs the ONU the first variable with a gate message, so that the ONU can adjust the value of the second variable using the value of the first variable, wherein the first variable is the maximum time interval for the OLT to send gate messages to the ONU and the second variable is the maximum time interval for the ONU to send report messages to the OLT; the OLT implements link maintenance according to the adjusted first variable and report messages received from the ONU. Application of the present invention can reduce the bandwidth occupied by link maintenance messages effectively and can improve the processing efficiency of the system.</p> |
