PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unfailingly prevent liquid droplets from moving after the liquid droplets land onto a surface of a base material for detection on which the liquid droplets discharged from a nozzle land.SOLUTION: An inspection device 7 detects discharge failure of multiple nozzles 10 of an ink jet head 3 and includes a discharge detection member 13 on which ink droplets discharged from the multiple nozzles 10 land. The discharge detection member 13 includes: a base material for detection 15 which is disposed facing an ink discharge surface 3a of the ink jet head 3; and a liquid repellent part 19 which is provided on a surface of the base material for the detection 15 which faces the ink discharge surface 3a so as to enclose multiple landing regions 21. The repellency of the liquid repellent part 19 is higher than the repellency of the landing regions 21.
