[Also in Divisions G4, H2 and H3] A flashing hand lamp, more particularly for use with a car to signal breakdown, comprises a head portion carrying a high intensity flash tube and attached to an elongated handle portion housing an electronic circuit for flashing the tube. The Fig. 1 the head carries a xenon flash tube behind a Fresnel lens 28 and the handle portion 12 is slotted at its base to enable the lamp to be held by a car window. The slot is lined with a magnet to enable the lamp to be secured elsewhere on the car. Power is supplied either by batteries in an extension of the handle (not shown) or through a cable 52 adapted to plug into a cigarette lighter socket. Fig. 2 shows an alternative arrangement of circular section and adapted to carry batteries at its base. |
