<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the erroneous connection of an optical fiber.SOLUTION: A projection type display system includes a light source device emitting first light and second light, first and second optical fibers transmitting the first light and the second light respectively, and a projection type display device modulating the first light and the second light by a light modulation element, to project them. The projection type display device includes first and second connection parts to which the first or second optical fiber is connected, a dichroic mirror transmitting the first light, reflecting the second light, and emitting the first light from the first optical fiber connected to the first connection part and the second light from the second optical fiber connected to the second connection part toward the light modulation element, an optical sensor detecting the first light or the second light, and a control part determining the connection state of the optical fiber, according to the detection result by the optical sensor. The optical sensor is provided on the side on which light emitted from the first or second optical fiber connected to the first connection part is made incident, of the dichroic mirror.</p> |
