PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress reduction of a printing amount for unit time, and inspect a discharge condition of ink.SOLUTION: An inkjet printer comprises: a nozzle for discharging liquid; a cavity communicated to the nozzle; a piezoelectric element disposed for discharging liquid according to the cavity; a drive signal generation part for generating a drive signal for driving the piezoelectric element; a discharge abnormality detection part for detecting change of electric motive force of the piezoelectric element according to the residual vibration. At first printing speed, a drive pulse Pa can be applied to the piezoelectric element, and an inspection pulse Pc cannot be applied to the piezoelectric element. At second printing speed, the drive pulse Pa and the inspection pulse Pc can be applied to the piezoelectric element, and the second printing speed is set to become slower than the first printing speed. |
