PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article having a transparent base material and an antifouling-antireflection film with an improved antifouling property while maintaining an antireflection performance of a silica-based porous film, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: An article includes a transparent base material and an antifouling-antireflection film disposed on the transparent base material. The antifouling-antireflection film includes a silica-based porous film and an antifouling layer, from the transparent base material side in this order. The silica-based porous film includes a hollow fine particle and a silica-based matrix. A mass ratio of SiOconversion solid contents of the hollow fine particle and the silica-based matrix (ratio of hollow fine particle/silica-based matrix) is 30/70-65/35. The antifouling layer includes a plurality of nano sheets made of a low refraction material whose refraction index is 1.4-1.65. The average film thickness of the antifouling layer is 0.4-15 nm.
