PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine drive type heat pump device capable of estimating heat value fluctuation tendency of fuel gas, and capable of operating in a state of following the estimated heat value fluctuation tendency.SOLUTION: An engine drive type heat pump device includes: engine output estimation means 53 that estimates apparent output of an engine 60 on the basis of the current opening of a throttle valve 12, an engine rotational speed measured by rotational speed measurement means 26 and a first relationship stored in a storage part 51; and heat value fluctuation tendency estimation means 54 that estimates heat value fluctuation tendency of fuel gas G by comparing the apparent output of the engine 60 estimated by the engine output estimation means 53 and the output of a compressor 40 derived from a thermal cycle.
