<p>The present invention relates to the process of manufacturing laminated sugarcane leaves. The process comprising the steps of sorting the leaves, removing the midrib, pressing, rolling, bleaching, steaming dyeing and unrolling the leaves then applying glue and in-laying the leaves on the backing material to make a sheet and finally rolling the sheet and applying lignin on the leaves as well on the backing material. It further relates to the use of laminated sugarcane leaves as handicraft material in the manufacture of products in different sectors of the handicraft industry.</p> |
