Disclosed in the present invention are an apparatus and a method for controlling a magnetic bearing to increase rotation accuracy. The apparatus for controlling a magnetic bearing comprises: a controlled area error receiving unit which receives signals about displacement errors measured in a controlled area such as the surface of a roller; a control area error receiving unit which receives signals about errors measured in a control area; multiple weight filter units which apply predetermined weight to each of the error signal; and an addition unit which adds the signals passing each of the weight filter units in order to generate an input signal to a magnetic bearing. Therefore, the apparatus for controlling a magnetic bearing can remarkably reduce vibration in the control area.
