<p>The invention relates to a method for edging wood-based material boards (1), in which the following steps are carried out: providing a wood-based material board (1) having a thickness which is less in the central layer (1a) than further outside, wherein the wood-based material board (1) has an upper side (1b) and lower side (1c) extending parallel to the central layer (1a) and also at least one narrow side (1d) extending from the upper side (1b) to the lower side (1c), wherein the narrow side (1d) has a width (B) and a length (L), producing a covering edge (2) from wood particles (4) provided with a binder and compressed to form a wood-based material (3), wherein the covering edge (2) has a thickness (d) of at most 8 mm and is formed from a wood-based material (4) which is selected from the group comprising thin chipboards, fine chipboards and fibreboards, rolling up the covering edge (2) to form a roll product (15), unrolling the roll product (15) and adhesively bonding the covering edge (2) to the narrow side (1d) of the wood-based material board (1) using an adhesive (5), wherein the elasticity of the covering edge (2) is increased prior to the adhesive bonding.</p> |
