[Also in Division E2] The winding or winding assembly of an inductor or transformer is compressed by means of pressure elements disposed at opposite ends of the winding and tensioned straps encircle opposing elements and the winding between them at least once. As shown, wooden pressure elements 4, 5 are applied to opposite ends of concentric low and high tension transformer windings 1, 2 separated by an insulating cylinder 3 and compressed by glass fibre reinforced plastics straps 6 which may be permanently attached at 8 by welding or adhesive or releasably by means of a pair of rings (9), (10) (Fig. 3, not shown), through which the straps are looped and frictionally held (see also Division E2). |
