EUCRYPTITE POROUS BODY, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eucryptite porous body having a large average pore diameter and high porosity, and a method for manufacturing the porous body.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of an eucryptite porous body of the present invention includes the steps of: preparing anisotropic zeolite particles each having a width of 0.5 μm or more and an aspect ratio of 3 or more; molding anisotropic zeolite particles to form a molded body; and firing the molded body. Further, the manufacturing method of an eucryptite porous body of the present invention includes the steps of: preparing anisotropic zeolite particles; mixing the anisotropic zeolite particles and aqueous solvent to form slurry; adding pH adjusting agent to the slurry and adjusting pH of the slurry to bring pH of the slurry to 5.5 or less; dehydrating and molding the slurry to form a molded body; and firing the molded body.
