PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select the operation mode of a power converter so that the efficiency of the whole system is enhanced, in a power supply system configured so that a power converter connected between a plurality of DC power supplies and the power line has a plurality of operation modes.SOLUTION: A power converter 50 has a series direct coupling mode for fixing the on/off of switching elements S1-S4 so as to maintain a state where a plurality of DC power supplies 10a, 10b are connected in series for a power line 20 connected with a load 30. A controller 40 selects an SD mode when a determination is made that the loss of the whole power supply system 5 is minimized during selection of the SD mode, depending on the operational state of the load 30 and the sum of output voltages from the DC power supplies 10a, 10b. |
