Provided are: a separator for electrical storage devices which has an intermediate coating layer between a porous film (I) and a porous film (II), and which is characterized in that the porous film (I) having the intermediate coating layer provided to one surface thereof and the porous film (II) are mechanically stacked and laminated with the intermediate coating layer therebetween; and an electrical storage device. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a separator capable of improving low-temperature discharge characteristics and high-temperature cycling characteristics, and an electrical storage device using said separator
