<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting device of a gas meter which can prevent a strut from tilting. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of slits 14 extending downward from an upper surface is formed on an upper end portion of a fixed cylinder portion 12 of a fixing member 1 so as to separate from each other in a circumferential direction. Therefore, the diameter of the upper end portion of the fixed cylinder 12 can be expanded/contracted. A tapered male thread portion 13 is formed on an outer peripheral surface of the upper end portion of the fixed cylinder portion 12. A tapered female thread portion 31 of a female thread member 3 is screwed with the tapered male thread portion 13. When fastening the female thread member 3, the diameter of the upper end portion of the fixed cylinder portion 12 is contracted. Consequently, an inner peripheral surface of the upper end portion of the fixed cylinder portion 12 annually press-contacts with an outer peripheral surface of a strut 2 except for parts of the slits 14, with predetermined vertical length.
