The present invention relates to a display device and to a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the present invention includes: a transparent display unit; a setting unit which sets the transparency of a first screen outputted to a foreground of the transparent display unit; and a control unit which determines the transparency of a background object through the transparent display unit based on the transparency of the set first screen, and changes at least one transparency among at least one part of the first screen and the background object based on a sensed event if the event related to the transparency control of the transparent display unit is sensed. |
