<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure an opening/closing function of a refuse charge box for a long period of time after the outbreak of fire in a refuse storage box of a press-type refuse collection vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A fire spread prevention device 10 is provided for a press-type refuse collection vehicle 1 which includes: the refuse storage box 2; the refuse throw-in box 4 which is connected with the back of the refuse storage box 2 in a freely openable/closable way; and a refuse loading device 5 which is provided in the refuse throw-in box 4 where the refuse loading device 5 has a packer plate 6 which can freely ascend and descend and a press plate 7 which is provided at a lower end of the packer plate 6 in a freely rockable way. The fire spread prevention device 10 includes a water storage tank 11 and an injection nozzle 16 which is provided at a rear upper part of the refuse storage box and injects water 12 supplied from the water storage tank 11 via a water distributing pipe 15 toward a rear upper area of a refuse storage space 9.
