The film coating device forms a film of a coating liquid on the surface of a material to be coated using an inkjet printer. A print head unit moves in a first direction with respect to a surface of a material to be coated, and a plurality of print heads are continuously mounted on the print head unit over an entire coating width in a direction or orthogonal to a first direction. A fixed control unit is provided on a fixed portion of the film coating device, and a coating control unit is provided on the moving portion of the film coating device. The coating control unit is configured to control a coating state of the plurality print heads and moves together with the print head unit. The coating control unit is connected to the fixed control unit by a transmission line.

1. A film coating device, which forms a film of a coating liquid on a surface of a material to be coated by using an inkjet printer, comprising:
a print head unit on a moving portion of the film coating device, said print head unit being capable of moving in a first direction with respect to the surface of the material to be coated; a plurality of print heads continuously mounted to the print head unit over an entire coating width in a direction orthogonal to the first direction; a fixed control unit provided on a fixed portion of the film coating device; and a coating control unit and a negative pressure pump on the moving portion of the film coating device, said coating control unit configured to control a coating state of said plurality of print heads and move together with said print head unit, said negative pressure pump configured to control a meniscus pressure, which is an internal pressure of said plurality of print heads, and to move together with said print head unit, and said coating control unit being connected to said fixed control unit by a transmission line; wherein:
said plurality of print heads, said coating control unit and said negative pressure pump on the moving portion of the film coating device are mounted so as to move together in the same manner,said plurality of print heads and said coating control unit on the moving portion of the film coating device are connected together by a plurality of electrical wire bundles,said coating control unit and said negative pressure pump on the moving portion of the film coating device, and said fixed control unit on the fixed portion of the film coating device, are connected together by said transmission line, andsaid transmission line has a smaller number of electrical wirings than a total number of electrical wirings of said plurality of electrical wire bundles.
