The present invention provides a method and device for producing calcium carbide from biomass fuel. The method for producing calcium carbide from biomass fuel comprises the following steps: using as starting materials biomass fuel and calcareous raw material; coking the biomass fuel, using as part or all of the preheat fuel the volatiles generated by coking of the biomass fuel and the CO by-product generated by production of calcium carbide, and combusting the preheated fuel with the auxiliary fuel to preheat the calcareous material; mixing the solid carbon generated by the coking biomass fuel and the preheated calcareous raw material, then carrying out the calcium carbide production reaction, and producing and obtaining calcium carbide. The device for producing calcium carbide from biomass fuel at least comprises: a raw material preheating unit, a solid mixing unit, and a reaction unit. In comparison with conventional production of calcium carbide, the present invention uses biomass fuel as carbonaceous raw material to produce calcium carbide and has the advantages of having numerous sources of raw materials, being renewable and non-polluting, having a low coking temperature, and large production capacity. The method and device of the present invention have the features of a simple process, low energy consumption, numerous sources of raw materials, and low cost, and solve the problem of calcium carbide production being "high-input, energy-intensive, and highly polluting".
