The present invention provides: a luminance-enhancing film having a λ/4 plate and a reflective polarizer, the reflective polarizer including light-reflecting layers in which first, second, and third cholesteric liquid crystal phases are fixed in this order from the λ/4 plate side, any one of the first, second, and third light-reflecting layers being a blue-light-reflecting layer, any one thereof being a green-light-reflecting layer, and any one thereof being a red-light-reflecting layer, and Rth(550) of the first and second light-reflecting layers having opposite signs; and a luminance-enhancing film having a λ/4 plate and a reflective polarizer including at least two light-reflecting layers in which a cholesteric liquid crystal phase is fixed, the cholesteric liquid crystal material of at least one of the light-reflecting layers of the at least two light-reflecting layers being a rod-shaped liquid crystal compound, and the cholesteric liquid crystal material of the other at least one light-reflecting layer being a disc-shaped liquid crystal compound. This luminance-enhancing film enables high luminance and suppression of oblique-angle color change when incorporated into a liquid crystal display device. |
