A storage system (1) according to the present invention is provided with a host interface (12) which receives I/O requests from a host (2) via a SAN, and a management interface (119) which receives network packets from devices in a management network, such as a management terminal (3). The storage system (1) analyzes the characteristics of an I/O request from the host (2) and changes the filtering level on the basis of the characteristics of the I/O request. Further, when the filtering level is high, the storage system (1) increases the types of network packets to be discarded, which are selected from among the network packets arriving at the management interface (119), and when the filtering level is low, the storage system (1) decreases the types of network packets to be discarded, thus performing control to prevent the processing of the network packets arriving at the management interface (119) from affecting the I/O performance of the host (2). |
