<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric discharge machine having a rotary shaft including means for detecting entry of a processing liquid inside a rotary shaft body.SOLUTION: Detection means 10 for detecting entry of a processing liquid is provided in the vicinity of a seal mechanism part 8 inside a rotary shaft body 1. At that time, a bearing support part 7 and the seal mechanism part 8 of the rotary shaft body 1 may have a divided structure. The detection means 10 including two insulated electrodes is installed in a state of being insulated from the rotary shaft body 1, so that conduction cannot be confirmed even when a voltage is applied between the two electrodes. When a processing liquid 14 entering inside the rotary shaft body 1 from a gap 13 stays on the detection means 10, conduction can be confirmed via the processing liquid 14, so that the entry of the processing liquid can be detected. As for the detection means of the processing liquid, other than detecting the conduction, by using various types of known technologies such as a capacitance sensor and an optical sensor, an electric discharge machine can detect the entry of the processing liquid into the rotary shaft body 1.</p> |
