<p>An edge device for an obstacle detection system has a housing 12 containing an array of radiation emitters 18 and means 24 for redirecting the emitted radiation through a predefined angle for receipt by a complementary edge device on an opposite side of the doorway. The complementary edge device comprises a housing 12 containing an array of radiation receivers 18 and means 20 for redirecting the received radiation through a predefined angle for receipt by the receivers. Also disclosed is a lens 20 for an edge device, comprising a lens portion 28 for focusing and/or guiding radiation incident on the lens and an interface portion 30 for interfacing with a surface of a channel 12 of the edge device to secure the lens in position in the channel when the edge device is assembled. The material of the interface portion is softer than the material of the lens portion.</p> |
