The present invention provides a camera module compensating apparatus and a method thereof. The camera module compensating apparatus includes: a measuring unit which measures brightness by a predetermined area of an image by receiving image data from a camera module; a comparing unit which detects a brightness difference value by comparing the measured brightness with a target brightness; a control unit which compensates the brightness by the predetermined area of the image by setting a gain value to compensate the brightness and a gain adjusting factor according to the detected brightness difference; and an evaluation data storing unit which stores temporarily the gain value and the gain adjusting factor and outputs the gain value and the gain adjusting factor to the camera module after the data verification of the control unit.
