A solution for peer-assisted distribution of video content over a broadband network is disclosed. A video file is segmented (11) into segments and segmentation metadata is generated (12). The segments are converted (13) to media stream segments with counter/timestamp consistency. The media stream segments and the segmentation metadata are injected (15) into a peer-assisted video delivery system. The segmentation metadata are then used for regenerating (20) the video file after reception of the media stream segments. |
