Provided is a game device equipped with a user interface which has an easily understandable operation method, and which can appropriately reflect operation skill in the control of the movement direction of an object. When a user touches a card (110As) and executes a pull-back operation which changes the operation position, a reference direction (phi) which is parallel and in the reverse direction to the direction of the pull-back operation is detected. During the pull-back operation, a pendulum (123) is displayed which swings within the same range (127) on both sides of a border-forming central line (Le), which is parallel to the reference direction. When, following on from the pull-back operation, the user has executed a trigger operation, the card (110As) is fired to the opposite side to the pull-back operation. The reference direction during the trigger operation and the offset amount (Deltaphi) of the pendulum (123) relative to the reference direction are set as initial conditions, and the movement direction of the card (110As) is controlled on the basis of the initial conditions such that the greater the offset amount (Deltaphi), the greater the offset, relative to the reference direction, of the movement direction of the card (110As) after the trigger operation. |
