Broadcast receiver and control method of TOP

PURPOSE: A broadcast receiver performing tuner setting optimization and a control method of TOP according to a broadcasting signal are provided to optimize the tuner setting by changing and setting TOP according to a signal quality in a broadcasting signal tuning. CONSTITUTION: An RF(Radio Frequency) AGC(Automatic Gain Control) block(112) receives a broadcast signal and keeps received signal intensity. A MOPLL(Mixer Oscillator Phase Locked Loop) block(114) converts a radio signal offered from the RF AGC to an IF(Intermediate Frequency) signal. A COFDM(Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) module unit(116) measures a BER(Bit Error Rate) of an intermediate frequency signal. A control unit(160) changes the TOP value, compares the estimated IF signal BER and BER stored in the memory unit, and sets the TOP value with a small estimated BER value to received broadcast signal.
