1. A refraction device for determining a refraction end point and providing corrective optics for a test subject, comprising:
(a) an adjustable optical system providing corrective optics to the test subject; and (b) an adjustable viewing target disposed along an optical path such as to be viewable through the adjustable optical system by a test subject, and (c) wherein at least two distinct configurations of the adjustable viewing target are linked synchronously to at least two choices of corrective optics to be presented to the test subject; (d) wherein the adjustable viewing target comprises a directional indicator on a display, that changes synchronously between at least two objectively distinct attributive forms with the at least two choices of corrective optics the directional indicator comprising: i. at least one dot, or ii. one or more lines, or one or more curved lines, or one or more bars, or iii. one or more arrows or other symbols, alphabets, or numbers, or iv. one or more shaped objects, a circular, semi-circular, oval, square, rectangular, hexagonal, octagonal, or other regular, irregular, symmetric or asymmetric polygonal object, or an object with one or more curved portions, or combinations thereof, or v. combinations of two or more of i., ii., iii., and iv, and wherein the directional indicator comprises a relatively light dot inside a dark area, or vice-versa, a bar or other in-plane rotationally asymmetric polygon, an arrow, a line, or another in-plane rotationally-dependent object, or combinations thereof, and is configured to be displayed to the test subject in at least two configurations each uniquely indicative of one of the choices of corrective optics, and wherein the directional indicator comprises a first object that is embedded within a second object on a display, or that is movable between at least two positions within said second object on said display, or that is adjustable between at least two configurations, orientations or positions, or combinations thereof, linked synchronously to at least two choices of corrected optics presented to the test subject. |
