PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to predict potential noise.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus 1, an inline sensor unit 5 is configured so that each of printed matters discharged from an image forming unit 3 passes in an X-axis direction, to detect a density value by irradiating each of the passing printer matters with light extending in a Y-axis direction. A control circuit 7 integrates the density values of non-image parts in M (M is a natural number of 2 or more) or more printed matters, on the basis of the density value detected in the inline sensor unit 5, for each line-shaped part parallel to the X-axis direction and having the same Y-axial position in each of the M or more printed matters, to determine an integrated density value, thereby predicting noise to be generated in the printer matter generated in the image forming unit 3 on the basis of the determined integrated density value. |
