PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system that manages combination of software in a device capable of using a plurality of controllers so as to improve performance of software distribution processing.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 131 of a network system notifies a distribution system 133 of software information related to a first controller and software information related to a second controller, as a client function corresponding to the first controller included in the image forming apparatus 131; and obtains the software to be applied, from the distribution system. If the software information related to the second controller is included in the notification from the image forming apparatus 131, the distribution system 133 excludes part of software out of software related to the first controller from a management target and manages the software information of the image forming apparatus 131.
