PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spin light-emitting element which switches polarity of circular polarization (clockwise, counterclockwise) without using an external magnetic field for switching of the polarity of circular polarization and emits polarized light from a single point source of light.SOLUTION: A domain wall displacement type spin light-emitting element is characterized in that a magnetic metal electrode having a magnetic domain whose directions of magnetization are anti-parallel to each other across a domain wall is arranged on the upper surface of a current constriction layer formed in an upper part of a circularly polarized light-emitting layer having a light-emitting structure, and by flowing a current through the magnetic metal electrode, the domain wall is displaced and a polarization state of light to be emitted is changed. |
