Disclosed is a computer system for verifying authorisation of a transaction. The computer system comprising a memory (306) for storing data and program instructions, and at least one processor (305) coupled to the memory (306). The processor (305) is programmed to receive a request to process an electronic transaction for a predetermined amount of money such that the request includes data identifying a particular financial instrument. The predetermined amount is divided into a plurality of charges and the financial instrument is debited with each of the charges. Information is received relating to the plurality of charges from the originator of the request and the transaction is verified only if the information is correct. |
